My Sanctuary

So, I just had to share with everyone my new bed! It's the most marvelous piece of furniture I've purchased and I fall into a coma everytime I lay down. Plus, I think it's pretty so I had to post a picture.

July 4th Weekend

This weekend I went to Austin to visit one of my best friend's Jacky. We went to SMU together, but she is in med school so we don't get to see each other too often. On Friday, we cruised around Lake Austin on a party boat cruise from Hula Hut. Later that night we saw an amazing fireworks show at Jacky's neighbor's house. Her family lives on Lake Travis so for the remainder of the weekend we enjoyed food, sangria, jetskis and lots of lounging in the lake!

My Mom and Dad decided to add an addition to our family. A little over a year ago our Domino passed away. He had been part of our family for 15 years, but with my Dad being away during the week my Mom needed some company so they got Scout. He's a Jack Russell terrier, 11 weeks old and has quite the personality. He takes about 15 naps a day, but likes to play and run around the backyard at warp speed. Here a few pictures and I'm sure I'll be adding more.

St. Thomas

Back in May I went to St. Thomas for a week. For the first part of the week I was there for work, which if you have to go anywhere for work let it be St. Thomas. Then I stayed through the weekend for some vacation time and of course relaxation with my roommate Lindsay and my good friend from Orlando - Jenny.

St. Thomas was very beautiful, but it's certainly not a cheap place to vacation. I pretty much stayed at the hotel, which was fine by me because all I wanted to do was sit by the beach and pool with my book and relax.

All in all it was a great trip and I enjoyed the break from everyday life immensely!

Everyday Lauren

So many of my friends have started writing blogs and at first I thought "if I had a blog I wouldn't have anything to write about", but then I started thinking about things I could post and decided to jump on this bandwagon.

In my first post, I wanted to explain the title of my blog. I LOVE the Food Network and watch it all the time. Some of my favorite shows are Barefoot Contessa and Everyday Italian so I named my blog using Everyday. I'm not much of a cook yet, but I'm getting better and try to cook from time to time so I can sharpen my skills.

There will be more to come as I spruce up this blog.
